Montrose V Berwick at Links Park Stadium - Match Preview

McIntosh can kickstart Montrose

Montrose welcome back Ricky McIntosh from suspension as they chase their first points of the season in the home game against Berwick.

Boss Stuart Garden, without back-up goalkeeper Sandy Wood due to a knock, is hoping his players get their just desserts this week.

Garden said: "Based on our first-half display against Annan we should have been coming home with something.

"It was disappointing to lose, but we need to put that behind us.

"Hopefully everyone has learned that if you don't take your chances you don't get anything from a game.

"Berwick had a good win last weekend, so we're facing a confident side."

Berwick will reshuffle their defence as Dougie Brydon is out with a pelvic problem and Stephen Tulloch is not ready to return after a hamstring strain.

Manager Ian Little has recruited Mick Dunlop on loan from Forfar as cover.

Little, who keeps youngster Jonny Fairbairn in his squad, said: "It was great to defeat Queen's Park 4-0 and now we want to build on that win.

"If we make it two wins out of three it could be classed as good start to the season.

"We face Rangers in the Ramsdens Cup in midweek and it would be good to be going there with some confidence."
