Montrose V Queens Park at Links Park Stadium - Match Preview

Striker sits out Spiders visit

Scott Johnston will be missing for Montrose when Queen's Park visit Links Park.

The striker is suspended and joins goalkeeper John Gibson (shoulder), Jamie Winter (hip) and Leighton McIntosh (pelvis) on the sidelines.

The Gable Endies are looking for the win that will keep them on the coattails of fourth-placed Berwick ahead of the final round of games next weekend.

Manager Stuart Garden said: "We have got to take care of Queen's Park and hope that Annan do us a favour at Berwick.

"We played well at Clyde last Saturday but we failed to take the chances that we created. We have to do that against a good Queen's Park side.

"We beat them in our last meeting and a repeat of that would be very welcome."

Queen's Park will be without Ricky Little.

The defender has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking a metatarsal in the warm up against East Stirling last weekend.

Also missing for the Spiders is goalkeeper Neil Parry and centre-back Jamie Brough, who both have ankle injuries, so youngster Scott Gibson is included again as defensive cover.

Head coach Gardner Speirs said: "We have made the play-offs already but now we want to secure second place by winning our last two games starting at Links Park.

"Montrose have been a good side all season and they will be battling for everything in this one. They still have a chance of being in the play-offs and that makes a hard game even harder."
