Rodgers Signs For East Stirling As New Signing Arrives At Links Park

Last updated : 30 January 2008 By Peter Marshall
Andy Rodgers signed an 18 month deal with East Stirling today after the Montrose board accepted a four figure fee for the striker.

Rodgers, who arrived at Links Park at the start of 2006/07 from Dumbarton, had ound himself pushed out of the starting eleven this season with Baird and Wood being the preferred choice of partnership.

In his first season with the club he scored 11 goals and had so far scored 5 goals this term with many of his appearance coming from the bench.

In total Andy made 48 appearances and 18 sub appearances, scoring a total of 16 goals for the club.

All the best to Andy, as long as he doesn't come back to haunt us.

It has also been reported that Montrose have signed Jamie Buchan from Peterhead. The defender, who has made 160 appearances for Peterhead, will add to our squad following the departures of Neil Stephen and Barry Donachie.  It is also our second signing in the January transfer window, following the capture of Fraser McLaren on loan last week.  Will there be more new faces before the window closes?  Watch this space.
