Winter earns Montrose victory

Jamie Winter netted a late winner as Montrose boosted their play-off hopes with a 2-1 win over struggling Clyde.

Clyde duo David Marsh and John Sweeney failed to hit the target with headers in a first half starved of clear-cut chances.

Alan Campbell nodded wide for Montrose, who went ahead in the 66th minute when midfielder Craig McLeish found the bottom corner from 18 yards.

Clyde levelled 12 minutes later as substitute James Scullion needed just two minutes to make an impact, heading into the top corner.

But midfielder Winter struck a 20-yard strike into the bottom corner nine minutes from time.

Striker Kevin Watt had a chance to steal a point but he fired over from 12 yards.
