East Fife stole all three points in their home clash against Montrose when Stephen Tarditi fired in a last minute goal.

Mike Hall almost grabbed a 14th minute opener for the Fifers when Montrose failed to clear a corner but his effort was kicked off the line by Graham Sharp.

Sharp himself limped off in the 17th minute and the visitors were lucky to hold out after a Greig McDonald header was pushed round the post.

McDonald was a constant danger and headed a Kris Brash cross just over the bar in 28th minute.

Montrose were forced into a further change when centre-half Greig Smith had to go off on 38 minutes, however, they were then denied a penalty when Craig Smart tumbled in the box but referee Alan Muir waved away their appeals.

East Fife began to add more pressure with Craig Lumsden and James Herkes denied during a goalmouth scramble, while Montrose went close to scoring on 68 minutes but Kevin Webster's free-kick cleared the crossbar.

A draw looked a certainty but with just one minute left on the clock Tarditi popped up to smash a long shot past the keeper to secure East Fife maximum points.
