Montrose 2-0 East Stirling- Match Report

Masson off the mark as Montrose win

Terry Masson scored his first goal of the season as Montrose recorded a 2-0 victory over league-leaders East Stirling.

The hosts started brightly and took the lead in the 35th minute when Michael McGowan turned the ball into the back of his own net from close range.

The Gable Endies flew out of the traps in the second period and doubled their advantage in the 51st minute when Masson fired the ball past Shire shot-stopper Grant Hay.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser as the half went on, but they could not find a way past Montrose goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie and they suffered their first away defeat in the league this campaign.
