Joy of six for Boyle

Martin Boyle scored his sixth goal of the season to give Montrose a 2-1 win over a Peterhead side now without a win in five Third Division games.

The visitors took the lead after 11 minutes when Barry Sellars picked out top scorer Rory McAllister, who produced a neat finish from the edge of the area to notch his seventh goal of the league campaign.

And Peterhead were unlucky not to double their lead in the 24th minute when McAllister's header from Callum MacDonald's free-kick came back off the post.

Terry Masson levelled for Montrose five minutes before half-time after Sean Pierce's cross fell to the midfielder to neatly stroke home.

The Aberdeenshire club dominated proceedings early in the second half but it was Montrose who won it when Pierce found Boyle and he fired low into the corner 65 minutes in.
