Plucky Montrose hit back for point

Montrose managed a 2-2 draw with high-flying Elgin despite playing an hour with 10 men.

Elgin held a 2-0 lead at half-time but were unable to take all three points.

A neat left-footed finish from Stuart Leslie made it 1-0 after 21 minutes.

Daniel Moore then doubled their lead from the penalty spot when Sandy Wood was dismissed for a professional foul on the half hour mark.

Garry Wood's volley dragged Montrose back into the game after 74 minutes.

Elgin squandered the chance to go 3-1 up after Terry Masson handled in the box, Moore seeing his second penalty of the game superbly saved by David Crawford.

The drama intensified further in the 90th minute when Jamie Winter's stunning 30-yard drive pulled Montrose level.
