A second-half goal blitz ensured Peterhead ended their home fixtures on a high note.

Peterhead went in front after three minutes. Scott Michie ran at the Montrose defence before playing a ball to Martin Bavidge, whose low cross from the by-line to the right of goal eluded two visiting defenders and Graeme Stewart shot home from six yards.

The second half promised goals from the re-start and Montrose deservedly drew level in the 64th minute with a glorious effort. Kevin Webster laid a Graeme Sharp cross into the path of Craig Smart, who sent a stunning shot high into the net from 14 yards.

Peterhead regained the lead just two minutes later. A Bobby Linn corner from the right found substitute Chris Hegarty, and his cross was guided into the net from the edge of the six-yard box by Craig Tully.

Peterhead wrapped up the points 15 minutes from the end, Dougie Cameron pouncing to shoot into the corner of the net after a fine run from Bavidge.

In the dying seconds, Graeme Stewart scored his second of the match with a 20-yard shot which Montrose keeper Michael Hankinson got a hand to but failed to keep out.
