Longworth fires Spiders to victory

A brace from Jamie Longworth helped Queen's Park see off strugglers Montrose as they ran out 3-1 winners.

The visitors took the lead in the 30th minute when striker Martin Boyle unleashed a right-footed drive that beat keeper Neil Parry.

But early in the second half Queen's Park equalised when Paul McGinn's cross found the head of Michael Daly in the six-yard box and midfielder nodded home to make it 1-1.

With 10 minutes remaining, Longworth smashed a right-footed shot from distance past keeper Michael Andrews, putting Queen's Park ahead.

And the midfielder scored again from close range after 87 minutes, confirming the Spiders second home win of the season.
