Four-star Montrose battle back

Montrose overturned a four-goal deficit to claim a dramatic 4-4 draw against 10-man Stranraer.

The home side looked to be in cruise control when they stormed to a three-goal lead by half-time through a Sean Winter strike from 12 yards and a brace of cool finishes by Craig Malcolm.

There was no hint of the drama to come in the second half when they increased their margin through Martin Grehan who drilled in from 12 yards after 53 minutes.

But the game turned on its head when David Mitchell was dismissed for a professional foul on Sean Pierce who got up off the ground to convert the penalty and start the comeback.

Pierce then grabbed his second from close range after 68 minutes before two fine strikes from long range by Jamie Winter brought the scores level.
